Grace Jeter

Meet Grace Jeter, Chairperson of the Kentucky SILC! From her early days growing up with her sister, Ava, who has Down syndrome, Grace’s life has been fueled by a deep passion for supporting individuals with disabilities. In November 2019, she joined the SILC as a council member and, as of April 2023, she chairs the organization. Grace has varied experience in several fields, including economics, state government, and universal design. She now works in marketing and as a paralegal at Bluegrass Elderlaw, where she helps older members of the community and people with disabilities lead independent lives for as long as they are able while safeguarding their assets.

The passion doesn’t stop with Grace alone – her husband, Justin Jeter, is the Policy Coordinator at the Commonwealth Council on Developmental Disabilities, where he develops relationships with Kentucky’s legislature to encourage disability rights. Grace is excited for this new chapter in the SILC’s history with its newfound nonprofit status and for all that lies ahead. This milestone means the SILC will have even more resources to support our mission of empowering people with disabilities to live independently and inclusively.
