Megan Kuhlwein began working with the SILC in 2023 as the agency’s first full-time Executive Director. She guides statewide efforts to advance disability rights and promote full community participation for Kentuckians with disabilities. In this role, she strengthens partnerships across state agencies, advocacy groups, and community organizations to ensure that the voices of people with disabilities shape policies and priorities throughout the Commonwealth.
Megan has worked in Independent Living for more than 10 years, with a deep commitment to self-determination, equity, and the independent living philosophy. She also draws on her lived experience as a disabled individual, shaping her perspective and leadership.
Outside of work, Megan is a mom to two young sons and two sweet dogs. She also enjoys quilting, crocheting, hiking, and gardening.
